Brazilian Jiujitsu initiation day at Aéropyrénées

Introduction to Brazilian Jiujitsu (at the Toussus-le-Noble base)

A day of discovery and sport. On Monday March 20, the Aéropyrénées team at Toussus offered an introduction to Brazilian Jiujitsu. The initiative was taken by Dominique BOTRALAHY(black belt under David PIERRE LOUIS), a member of the company's Sales & Communication department, who has been practicing this martial art for several years now. The day was an opportunity for participants to discover some of the techniques of this discipline and to familiarize themselves with its rules. The participants, mainly pupils from the school, were able to learn the basic movements of Brazilian Jiujitsu.

Brazilian Jiujitsu in a nutshell...

Brazilian Jiujitsu is a martial art that aims to neutralize the opponent using ground techniques. Unlike Judo, it's mainly a ground-based combat, with the main aim being the opponent's abandonment. The aim is to achieve dominant positions or submissions, such as joint locks, chokes or muscle compressions, to force the opponent to give up the fight without the need for physical violence.

This discipline therefore demands a high level of technique, self-control and knowledge of the human body. JJB can be practised as a leisure activity or in competition, but the most important thing is to work on yourself, your balance, your mental and physical strength, and to respect your opponent.

The "martial arts chess game

Collaboration with the Infinity Combat club enabled the Aéropyrénées team to take advantage of a Dojo for their JJB session. The day's program included a warm-up followed by classic techniques (jujigatame, triangle, kimura, omoplata), themed sparring and free sparring at the end. Despite some initial fears, no doubt linked to an apprehension of this discipline, all the students present thoroughly enjoyed this day dedicated to sport. The students were so enthusiastic about their Brazilian Jiujitsu experience that they eagerly requested a second day of initiation. This experience enabled them to unwind after their exams and discover a new activity. Thanks to this day, they learned to push their limits and to persevere.
